Hi, It seems we share some history. I've recently taken up the task of tracing my family history. I've traced back to Henry Layton in Mathon 1662. I've registered with Genes reunited and my tree is visible there. Please feel free to contact me with any family requests.
Regards,
Roy Layton.
Layton family history
Roy,
Like my neighbours Martin and Debbie at Dolefield Cottage, I have quite a lot of information about the Laytons since, because they owned Bank Farm, they also owned what is now our house but was then the main threshing barn. That said, most of my material came from June Harwood (whom I met at Herefordshire Record Office some years ago) and is broadly similar to the stuff she has now put on the web so there may not be much that you have not already discovered.

We have been looking at Bank Farm and Dolefield Cottage where we live. There is a lot of information on the Laytons on the internet. If you go on to www.juneharwood.co.uk she has been researching the Layton family. Also the National Archives
